Without question one of the most innovative
silversmiths of the 19th century.
Born 1795.
Opened shop in Manhattan 1821.
Listed with his son from
1850-1860.
Gale's work in major museum collections including:

Metropolitan Museum of Art
Nation Museum of Jewish History
Dallas Museum of Art
to name but a few.
The set features oak leaf and acorn on satin surface branch handle,
and satin surface leaf and acorn terminals,
and original raised acorn finial.
Crossed oak branch with acorn and engraved leaf to body,
stand with tapering branch legs with acorn and spread leaf feet,
and pierced leaf and acorn reticulated panel.
Period engraved Gothic initials to one side for
the original owner.
Hallmarked as shown.
This museum worthy, c1850 William Gale & Son
silver tea kettle on matching stand is 17 inches tall and
the set about 80 standard ounces.
In very fine condition.
Interior clean as if little or never used.
Retains original hand carved detail.
Rich silver patina throughout.
Stands firm on table.
Retains both original chains, only one securing pin, our silversmith will be
fabricating the missing pin as we speak.
