Description

Presented is a charming Peruvian 900 purity silver cup, dating to around the
1960s. The cup is made in a simple beaker type of form, with interesting tribal
decoration around the sides. This is a wonderful handwrought piece, with the
marks of hand hammering clearly visible in the finish around the rim, and other
textures for contrast to make the designs stand out.
The cup is in great overall condition. There is a little bit of denting to
the underside, but as this is a fairly rustic/handmade type of piece it's hard
to tell what is deliberate to the making and what is after the fact. There are
no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the cup is stamped with 900 for the purity of the silver, as
well as”Industria Peruana” meaning the piece was made in Peru. There is also
what is likely a maker's mark.
The cup stands about 3 ¼ inches tall. The mouth of the cup is about 3 1/8
inches in diameter.
The cup weighs 112 grams or 4.0 regular ounces.
