    * * * *   CHARLESTON SC DINNER FORKS    -    MATCHING SET OF 5    * * * *
    For sale is an antique set of 5 solid coin silver dinner forks 8-1/4" long in the TIPPED
    pattern marked N. Hayden (Nathaniel), Charleston, South Carolina circa 1835-1850.
    Nathaniel Hayden came to Charleston from Connecticut when he was 19 years old.
    In 1832 he became a partner of James Eyland and in 1838 he formed a partnership
    under the firm name Hayden, Gregg & Co.
    All are in good to nice condition with only wear on the tines.  One fork
    looks to have a repair on 2 tines; there are no monograms.  The combined
    weight is 358 grams of coin silver.
