    This is an important
    c1835
    silver (.917 pure)
    bird spout coffee pot.
    From
    the shop of
    Samuel Kirk, Baltimore.
    Owned by
    Alida Maria Van Rennselaer (1801-1832)
    and
    husband Charles Holker Carrol (1794-1865)
    and passed thru the
    Van Rennselaer
    family by descent.
    The van Rennselaears a Dutch famil
    settled in the
    Hudson Valley, New York State
    17th century,
    and prominent in the making our nation.
    In addition to its historical importance,
    the coffee pot displays
    satin chased bird head
    and
    grape and leaf framed maiden head mounted spout,
    itself framed in satin chased turned shell, leaf and flower.
    Hand engraved family crest.
    Hallmarked as shown.
    This important & monumental Samuel Kirk, c1835 Van Rensselaer silver coffee pot is 12 1/2 inches tall and
    weighs over 59 standard ounces.
    In very fine condition.
