Pair Of Zalmon Bostwick Coin Silver Tablespoons, New York City Circa 1846-1852

This pair of tablespoons, in the classic Tipped pattern, was made by Zalmon Bostwick who was a silversmith active in New York City from 1846-1852. The spoons were retailed by Eggert & Son. Eggert specialized in selling fine quality naval chronometers in addition to flatware. They are not marked sterling; we presume they are coin silver. The matching spoons are approximately 8 1/2” long and both monogrammed with the same script “MEA”. They are in very good condition. We do note that each shows some wear to the bowl wedge from stirring and one shows faint dings to the bottom of the bowl. These blemishes are honest wear and contribute to the overall charm of the spoons. Please refer to the photos for a clearer picture. The combined weight of the pair is 3.4 troy oz.
