Pair Antique 19th Century American Coin Silver Tongs 'C' Mono 5 1/2"

Description

Presented is an antique pair of American coin silver tongs made during the mid 1800s. The tongs can be used for anything you like but we believe they are probably for asparagus. This piece is done in a unique style, the feet are in the form of a trident (or fork tines) and a flat, shovel style side. One arm has an old, original monogram of the letter C done in a Gothic style.
The tongs are marked coin for 900 purity silver.
This piece is in excellent condition, especially for its age.
