New York COIN SILVER 3-Piece Tea Set, c. 1802-1829

This listing is for an OUTSTANDING and RARE  early 19th Century New York Coin Silver 3-piece teapot, creamer and lidded sugar, c. 1802-1829. The creamer and sugar are marked for maker Stephen Reed, New York, 1802-1832 and the teapot is marked for maker Boyce & Jones, c. 1825-1829. Each piece also marked "N. York" and each has faint monogram "A ? ? M".
The design features an oval lobed body, die rolled borders, scroll handles and a tiered pedestal base. The teapot has wooden spacers on the handle and the lids to both the sugar bowl and teapot have large bud finials. The silver is quite thick with heavy weight and each piece shows hand tooled marks on the interior. The complete 3-piece set weighs 74.88 oz. T or 2329 grams of .900 coin silver.
Teapot measures 9 5/8" high, 12" wide (spout to handle) and 5 5/8" deep. Weighs 1110 grams.
Lidded sugar measures 8 1/2" high, 9 1/2" wide (handle to handle) and 5" deep. Weighs 795 grams.
Creamer measures 7 1/2" high (at handle), 7 1/4" wide (spout to handle) and 3 5/8" deep. Weighs 425 grams.
The overall condition of this set is very good to excellent with no noted flaws and reflecting only minor signs of wear. The teapot has a small faint dent on the lowest level of the base and a tiny no-harm nick on the bottom edge. The lid to the sugar has a tiny crease on the outside edge and the inside rim of the lid is slightly out-of-round, however, the lid fits nicely. There is a faint dent on the shoulder rim of the creamer. Other than these specific areas mentioned for accuracy, the set is in unusually good condition for its age.
