Description
For sale is a coin silver teaspoon made in the studios of J. Hall. There were many J. Hall in different areas. I have been unable to track this mark to pinpoint this particular maker. If you can shed any light on this mark it would be greatly appreciated.
The mark is raised and says J.HALL. The small mark to the right is a journeyman's mark meaning it was actually made by someone who worked in his studio. The shape of the spoon probably dates it c.1850.
The teaspoon is 5 3/4” long. The condition is normal wear for coin silver with dings in the bowl. There is a monogram on the front.
It is in as found condition and has only been hand polished.
