This recent sale provides a look at how a long privately held collection fared in today's market. The collection was diverse, with English silver, some Irish, Continental items and a wide array of American coin silver with some regional strengths. All 240 items have a description and a price estimate. Most of the lots are represented by a photograph, though, not every single item is pictured. While Mr. Williams' large, in-depth collection was known to some within the mid-Atlantic region, its arrival on the market proved a revelation to others.
