    Description

Hyde & Goodrich was the premier shopping destination for luxury goods in New Orleans from 1828 to 1861.
They did source the finest silver from the Northeast as well as employing silversmiths themselves.   While hallmarked "Hyde & Goodrich," it also has another mark that could possibly be one of their journeymen.   That mark is mystery that may never be solved.
This beautiful serving spoon is 8 1/4" in length and weighs 62.8 grams. It is monogrammed (possibly LDF).
In overall excellent condition but we noticed "scratch marks" that are aligned on the end of the handle.  The last pictures (taken with a magnification of 3.3) will show the marks.   Based on the symmetry, it possibly had a drawer or lid closed on it.  Another mystery with the spoon.  But that does not detract from the beauty or use of this wonderful spoon.
Based on customer preference, we only lightly polish our silver.
