    Description

    A spectacular
    large
    coin silver chicken tongs by Gorham in the Saxon Stag pattern with a stag head on each arm, a claw on the end of one arm and a pierced blade on the other.  The tongs were retailed by Starr & Marcus of New York. Very good condition. Monogrammed on the disc at the top.  These tongs were deacquisioned from a museum and have the museum number in red on the back of the blade. Circa 1865. Marked lion, anchor, G, Starr & Marcus.
