G Boyce NY Coin Silver CUP Octagon 3" Antique Monogram JL c1814-1857

Offered from a local NJ estate is an antique (1814-1857) Geradus Boyce  coin silver
Octagonal Cup/Mug with 2 letter script monogram on panel opposite the handle "JL"
The handle has a repair at thumb rest, it may have had a thumb tab which is gone, see photos
It also has a split, at the seam, right next to handle, from top rim down approx 1/4-1/2" see photos
This hand made cup has rolled rim and applied bottom

Weight is 85.6 grams!
3" tall 2 1/2" across bottom and just the tiniest bit smaller across the top rim
