Description
Early A E Warner Coin Silver Mayflower Dessert Spoon. Eight available, selling separately. Monogrammed EL in flowing, feathered script. The engraved scrolling acanthus leaf design was a common motif used in Baltimore from the mid 19th century forward. It eventually became standardized in the "Mayflower" pattern produced by Kirk-Stieff.These spoons were made by Andrew Ellicott Warner, a prominent 19th century Baltimore silversmith, and are stamped with his name, along with the peculiar-to-Baltimore “11” ounce standard mark, indicating a silver content slightly greater than coin and less than sterling.
In very nice estate condition with patina and minor dings of everyday use in such old pieces. Each weighs 39 g. and measures 7 3/8”. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
