    Description

Beautiful coin silver sauce or gravy ladle made by E. A. Warner in the early 1800's.  The ladle has a lovely brite-cut engraved design that extends from base of bowl to the end of the handle with a cartouche design and fancy two letter monogram E L. The spoon is stamped Warner Coin, which dates it early in the career of E. A. Warner, a prominent silversmith in Baltimore, MD from 1805-1870.  His later pieces were marked A. E. Warner and pieces in Baltimore after 1830 were required to contain assay stamps indicating level of pure silver composition (usually 10 or 11). This piece has an unusual and unique side spout.  It measures 6” long and weighs a substantial 44 g. It is in excellent estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minor signs of nominal wear.  From a Baltimore family private estate. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail service.
