    Description

Presented is a wonderful old American coin silver single handle cup or mug. This piece dates to around the 1830s-1850s and was made by Jeffrey R. Brackett. The cup is fabulously hand chased with a design of detailed leaves and flowers on a tendril-y vine. The front of the cup, opposite the handle, has a monogram of FWC in elegant script. The handle is done in a classical S-scroll form, with a little thumbpiece at the top.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped 'pure coin' and with the maker's mark for Jeffrey R. Brackett, as well as the retail mark for Crosby & Brown in Boston.
The cup stands about 3 1/2 inches tall at the tallest point of the handle.
The cup weighs 105 grams or 3.7 regular ounces.
