c1830s Great set 4 American Coin Silver Basket of Flower / Sheaf of Wheat Spoons

Description

Presented is an antique set of 4 American coin silver place, serving or stuffing
spoons made by various makers during the early to mid 1800s. The spoons have
Fiddle pattern handles and raised decorations at the tip. One of the spoons has
a sheaf of wheat decoration, while the others have a beautiful, overflowing
bouquet of flowers. The spoons are all monogrammed, as you can see in the photos
below. The back 3 of the bowls have an old shell decoration. These spoons are
guaranteed to be coin silver purity.
The various makers include: Alfred Lockwood of New York circa 1817-1847, John
J. Low & Co of Boston circa 1828, George W. & N.C. Platt of New York
circa 1816-1820, William B. North of Connecticut circa 1810-1829, and L. Sawyer
(unknown location and date).
This set is in great overall condition for its age. The raised decorations
are crisp. All of the bowls are highly polished, undoubtedly some dents must
have been removed from the bowls. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no
monogram removals and no other repairs.
The spoons measure between 8 1/2 and 8 7/8 inches long and the combined
weight of the set is 195.6 grams or 6.9 regular ounces.
