    Antique Prince Charlie Tartan Ware Tatting Shuttle
    Scottish * Circa 1870
    This antique tartan ware shuttle has a wooden post and is gold stamped "Prince Charlie" on one side. It was made by the W. & A. Smith Co in Mauchline Scotland c. 1870.
    The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks and the tartan is intact with no tears or serious loss.
    The points are intact and touching and it is sturdy with no wobble. It measures almost 3" by 5/8". One is
    shown on p. 159 of Nerylla Taunton's book
    Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries.
