Description
Presented is an antique, American coin silver tea creamer/milk pitcher and sugar bowl for a tea set made by Conrad Bard of Philadelphia during the mid 19th century. This piece was made around the 1830s or the 1850s. This is a large size set of good weight. Each piece is beautifully hand chased with detailed flowers and flourishes. Each piece has a monogram of the initials AAL and an inscription that reads: Albert and Anne from Mortimer.The underside of each piece is marked for 900 coin silver purity. The sugar bowl is also marked for Conrad Bard & Philadelphia.
This set is in excellent overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and use but no damages and no repairs.
The creamer measures 5 3/8 inches from handle to spout and is 7 7/8 inches tall.
The sugar bowl measures 6 3/4 inches from handle to handle and is 9 1/8 inches tall.
Total weight: 1,201 grams or 42 ounces.
