    Description

Presented is a fine American coin silver beaker cup. This piece dates to the late 1700s or early 1800s and was made by George Aiken of Baltimore, Maryland. The cup is done in a simple beaker style, with a bright silver finish. The cup has a finely hand engraved wreath design, surrounding a shield shaped cartouche. The cartouche has a monogram of MJP in flowing script.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the cup is stamped with a maker's mark for George Aiken of Baltimore, Maryland. There is some wear to the middle of the mark but we have compared it with other examples of his mark and it is certainly identifiable as G. Aiken.
The cup stands about 3 1/4 inches tall.
The cup weighs 118 grams or 4.2 regular ounces.
