antique 19C LADY'S COMPANION ETUI 4.5" gilt leather book case sewing kit set
19th century leather book-shaped sewing case labeled "LADY'S COMPANION" on spine. The case pulls open to reveal lovely floral band thimble, a wood pencil, button hook with celluloid handle, leather folding needle book, very nice mirror, tablet for notes, and 3 small antique needle packets. There is a dark pink velvet pincushion on right side of interior that is actually a little secret drawer that pulls out to hide treasures. The leather book is 4-1/2" high. It has a lot of wear, top cover edge is a little loose, and signs of age. Contents are all very good, interior quite nice and I think the thimble, mirror, pencil, note tablet, and the folding leather needlebook are original pieces.
