    Description

    Presented is a fine quality American coin silver ladle. This piece dates to around the 1840s and was made by James Watts of Philadelphia, PA. The ladle is well constructed, with a good weight to it, made from thick silver throughout. The handle is monogrammed with 'JP' in elegant script.
    This piece is in great condition. There is some surface wear, but nothing excessive, only what is typical for age and having not been buffed.
    This piece is hallmarked on the reverse of the stem with the maker's mark for James Watts of Philadelphia, PA, as well as 'COIN' for 900 silver purity.
    This piece is approximately 12 3/4 inches long.
    This piece weighs 178 grams or 6.2 regular ounces.
