    Description

Presented is an old set of 6 American coin silver spoons, likely made by Adam
Stone of Baltimore, Maryland during the early 1800s. Stone worked from
approximately 1800 to 1815, and the style of these spoons and the monogram is
consistent with this timeframe.  Each handle is in a classic Fiddle pattern and
each tip is hand engraved with the initials FMH.
The backs are marked AS. A nice early set of Baltimore spoons, certainly made
before Baltimore instituted its own assay office.
This set is in pretty good condition, especially for its age. There is a
small dent to the handle of one spoon and a small bend to one of the shafts.
And there is minor wear to the bowls. There are no breaks, no splits, no
    monogram removals and no repairs.
Each spoon measures 6 1/2 inches long and the combined weight of the set is
    131 grams or 4.6 ounces.
