Antique Richmond, Virginia photobook / travel guide dated 1905 titled "Richmond on the James."
Very good condition, staple bound but covers separated from contents, closed tearing along top and bottom of fold but still very good (see photo).
Many full-page photographic illustrations of Richmond landmarks and scenes.
Published by J. Murray Jordan, Philadelphia.
32pps.
9 3/4 x 8 inches.
Contents moderately toned, infrequent light spotting/foxing mostly marginal.
Light edge-wear in places including light creasing a possibly a few tiny chips/closed tears at edges.
Cover toned especially along edges (see left edge in photo).
Light chipping/torn at bottom right corner.
A rare item.
Subjects include: The James River; Washington Monument; City Hall; Stonewall Jackson Monument; Henry Clay Monument; St. Paul's Church; Robert E. Lee Monument; The Lee Mansion; Sacred Heart Cathedral; Old Confederate Capitol; Confederate Soldiers Home; Jefferson Hotel; St. John's Church and more.
